The Auto Clutch on the Water cooled 50cc KTM Bikes are much the same as the Air cooled Adventure models. The difference being that the Adventure uses springs which give a smooth and gentle take off, where the LC models have a stack of sprung shims.  These can be added or removed to change the point at which the clutch segments fly out with centrifugal force and therefore take up.  The result is that the bike will start to move at different rev ranges; in other words it will allow the serious junior racer to get the engine really reving before the bike moves.  This is hepful to have the appropriate setting when on the start line or coming out of turns.  The clutch has three segments and therefore three sets of shims, so make certain that change all three stacks accordingly.  It also allows the clutch to be adjusted to compensate for the wear inside the basket and the shims losing their spring tension, over time.  For the 2009 KTM went to springs on the LC model.  Edmondson Racing reccomends that these springs are fitted to the earlier model LC Bikes to cure clutch issues???
