To change the piston in most bikes, the procedure is pretty much the same and should be carried out by a proficient mechanic. Its logical, mechanical and has to be done with feeling. Dont force anything because there will be a very good reason not too! Most 2T models have a powervalve, which will need to be disconnected, with the exception of the KTM 50cc and 65cc models up to 2008. Unless the powervalve arm is located as it should be when the cyclinder is put back, it will not work properly. The symtom of incorrect rebuild is that the bike will seem flat and not have sufficient power. In respect to most riders, we recommend that this job is done by a dealer or at the very least, by someone who REALLY DOES KNOW what he is doing. Sorry Boys but we could really tell you some horror stories of customer's mates doing things that they shoudn't! |
